Villages full of character

The Basque Country is full of charming villages full of character to discover. We advise you to start with Itxassou, a village crossed by the white waters of the Nive and valleys with lush vegetation, then with Ainhoa and its typically Basque charm. Continue with Sare, a village nestled at the foot of the Rhune and Axuria massifs, then by Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port which will impress you with its medieval heritage. Continue with a visit to La Bastide-Clairence known for its Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church, then through the village of Ustaritz which will introduce you to Basque pelota. Finish with Bidart, located on the Basque Coast, where you can practice all water sports.

In a thirty-minute drive from our family hotel in Espelette, you will be in the heart of Biarritz. This charming town will seduce you with its lighthouse, its aquarium, the Rock of the Virgin and the Atalaye plateau. During your visit to Biarritz, don't miss the famous Les Halles market to taste all the regional specialties. 

Bayonne

Bayonne is known throughout the world for its famous fiestas and its ham. But the town is also renowned for its historical heritage. During your stopover in Bayonne, don't miss the Basque Museum, Sainte-Marie Cathedral, the banks of the Adour, the city walls, Old Bayonne and the botanical garden. 

Saint Jean de Luz
